Marmarica is a city State comprised currently of Antipyrgos and Alakol (previously) Adam. It is a part of Numidia and the Greater Roman Empire.
Early History[]
The Early History of Marmarica begins with the Foundation era in Late March. The Player MMKraken first founded the City of Tobruk on empty Land Between Cyrene and the now non-existent state of Klinari. Tobruk (Now Antipyrgos) grew from the Center farm design inspired by the Persian Capital. It was funded by The mayor of Cyrene, who founded Libya shortly afterward. Slowly Tobruk grew to hold the cobblestone road to the sea, now the Emerald Road, and the Mineshaft East of the Center of town. It was an irrelevant town, but Kraken had his sites on something bigger. Once The town grew to have its first Landmark, the Court of Solomon, now a mostly irrelevant building Near the edge of the city, it was the center of Politics in the city for a while. A house, two farms, and a Bank were constructed (as well as a race track which never got claimed and was recently put out of commission for good). It funding was steady for Tobruk from its father city of Cyrene. Soon, however, Krakens ambitions grew past expansion, but now to Independence. After Mining for an extremely active Week and a half in late April and Early May, by May 5, the nation of Marmarica was founded, and Tobruk was renamed to Antipyrgos.
First Golden Age and Kraken's Rise to Power[]
This begins the First Golden Age of Marmarica, which saw relations improve with Numidia and reaffirmed ties with Libya. At this point, the City of Klinari was the biggest target of Expansion, as lack of land to the West, and no good land to the South. The resident SuperVince, now ___super___, built up many houses and saw Marmarica expand to new land. Kraken built up a new district but progress slowed by the end of the golden age. In Numidia a new constitution saw Kraken as the second Chancellor of Numidia. However, many plans would get nowhere, and perhaps this was the first sign of terrible things to come. For now however, Marmarica was a peaceful city-state with little military. He would run for Speaker of the House against Baron Ffin. The first election caused the first problems between them. The second was a close election but allowed Baron to win, Kraken would become Military Minister under Cobra. Expansion slowed for Antipyrgos but Political power seemed to be high. At the height of Kraken's power, he managed to get elected to the position of Praetor in the Greater Roman Empire with a stunning victory as an outsider, and be appointed as Aedile of Transportation. As he drafted up plans he seemed to be the clear front runner for Speaker of the House, as well as having Klinari finally fall, showing the path for Eastward expansion. on his 3rd attempt. However, this was not to be, as Baron, without posting a speech, tied the elections. As a new tally was being created an argument flared up between Kraken and Baron resulting in Kraken declaring Marmarica an independent state. This would spark the July Crisis.
July Crisis and Kraken's Downfall[]
As July started, Kraken maintained the upper ground despite animosity from Cobra and Baron on the first day, eventually Jan would also denounce Kraken. As he left Numidia, he also, inadvertently, left GRE, so negotiations with them began. It seemed at frst that things woul be fine, but a lack of communication got things off to a rocky start when Kraken's development plans were scrapped. In the ticket created, Twitchy finally gave his verdict on Kraken, that he shoudl be denounced. This hit as a huge blow to relations and plans to be an independent province failed, then plans to join Aegyptus failed, then secret plans to become a colony of france deadended and were exposed. By the last day and a half it was revealed to Kraken that he was declared a rebel state. With all of his power gone, a new figure would need to fix this seemingly unfixable situation. That's when Godspeed, a relatively unknown and inactive figure appeared on the stage...
Negotiations and Godspeed's Ascendancy[]
The July Negotiations began and lasted about 5 days. Discussion was clear that what Kraken had done was illegal in Marmarica as well and he did not speak for the city-state. The Gold Baron scandal was revealed to Godspeed, who quickly revealed it but handled it roughly, luckily Twitcjy sided with Godspeed and shut it down, improving relations. By the end, Marmarica was once again a city state in Numidia, and discussions with GRE would start soon but last until September.
This is the beginning of the Renaissance. Where Godspeed built up his own town, slowly mended relations with Jan, Baron, and Cobra. Baron became more and more inactive and Cobra became more irrelavent, spouting angry rants at Kraken when he rejoined. Jan was easier to warm up to, however he still needed his loan repayed from Kraken of 300 gold, which was only recently payed off after the loan crisis of September, resulting in full repayment and mending of relations. New buildings began to be constructed once more and Godspeed founded a town down south. The Praetorean Guard was founded by the Marmarican government as well as a new political constitution and economy. By the end, Kraken an unnopposed as Speaker of the House and won what he lost everything for by default. Furthermore, Godspeed won his seat as Chancellor, mirroring Kraken's victory months before. Now Godspeed runs for Praetor and tries to secure a position of Aedile to fulfill Kraken's unsung goals. This is where the Rennaisance age ends, and Marmaricas second Golden Age begins...
Second Golden Age[]
The Second Golden Age (current) Began in early september when Kraken officially had all debts and ties payed off, this allowed him more power and free will as well as better relations with cyrene. Kraken is currently revitalizing the banks in marmarica and building it up. Godspeed has inherited the town of Alakol (previously Istanbul), west of Marmarica, adding it to the state, trading Adam for it. The economy is rising and Kraken is finally expanding eastward towards his Egyptian ambitions. As current trends look, Kraken is slowly rising to power, being a lot more careful, as Godspeed seems to take a back seat, simply overseeing the situation after his previous success, it seems Godspeed will maybe take a larger role in foreign diplomaacy while his power in Marmarica slowly shrinks...
Decline and Fall[]
Starting in November, Kraken and Godspeed became less active, only maintaining the town monthly until it finally fell on June 8th, 2021.
